Biomedical Application:
Artery Connection

A team of biomedical engineers contracted Additive Engineering for help designing and 3D printing a surgical device designed to connect severed arteries, known as an anastomotic coupler. To ensure the highest level of precision and quality, we utilized MSLA additive manufacturing technology.

Throughout the project, we rigorously 3D printed and tested 11 different prototypes, evaluating their durability against separation forces. We compared knurled and smooth models to determine the maximum tensile stress a blood vessel can withstand.

In total, we manufactured, inspected, and tested over a thousand of these parts ensuring their compliance with rigorous quality standards.
